Hey there! My name is Melodie Blaize and I have been the designer, maker, shaker, and face of SnipTease since 2010. Creating, thrifting, and crafting has always be a passionate pastime of mine and I feel so fortunate to be able to do these things as my career! I'm currently living in Fort Lauderdale and am in the middle of an art residency at Storefront Art Studio in Downtown Hollywood, Florida.

I am self taught in this unique craft. My college degree was not in art or fashion. I studied Environmental Science and sustainable ethics are woven into every facet of my business. I typically use recycled garments and even use the scraps for artwork.

The best part of my job is getting to interact and learn about people while creating art right on their bodies. Wearable art that fits my client just how they want, made specially for them! These interactions typically occur at music festivals and other events- so hoping for some of that since 2020 had other plans for us all!

In addition to scissor scorcery, I love to play ukulele and improvise lyrics. I also love rollerskating and renovating my 1973 Airstream trailer! I hope to be on the road in 2022 bring smiles and snips all over the United States!

I decided to take the dive into becoming a full time artist in 2012 when I was in the middle of battling with Hodgkins Lymphoma. During chemotherapy, I kept my spirits high by snipping and surfing. Life is short - make it what you want!
